Woman of Flowers

WOMAN OF FLOWERS is a short but epic drama by the award-winning Welsh dramatist Siôn Eirian.

Taking his inspiration from the classic 1948 verse drama “Blodeuwedd” by Saunders Lewis, in his reimagining of the ancient Mabinogi  myth of the woman made from flowers Siôn Eirian skilfully crafted his own English language, poetic drama around Saunders Lewis’s most famous and iconic speeches to create a dark fantasy of contemporary relevance.

Theatr Pena’s resolutely modern production, the Company’s first co-production with Taliesin Arts Centre, toured Wales in spring 2018.

“An exceptional script and a performance that was beautifully staged and directed.”
Janett Morgan (Arts Scene in Wales)

“A masterpiece”
Sioned Williams (Dewi Llwyd a’r Fore Sul, Radio Cymru)
